I have been teaching Chinese to several English and French native speakers in the past four years. I helped them with speaking, characters recognising, writing, listening, reading and exam preparations. Most of my students were MBA students developing their career in China. Knowing that Chinese is fundamentally different from European languages, I have found way to come around and explain the language in your perspective. And I am very excited to help you in this progress!

I like to teach Chinese in real life settings. Depending on the student’s level, the class can take place in a bookstore, a park, a super market, a Chinese restaurant, where we will have conversations in Chinese. On the other hand, if you are keen to polish your writing and reading, I also have a set of materials to help you. Everything will be tailor made for your level, area of interest and adjustments will be made to motivate your learning.

My name is Rachel, I am a Taiwanese girl passionate about helping people learn Chinese and the culture!

I now work for ICRC(International Committee of the Red Cross) in Geneva. I have recently finished my BBA degree in Global Business in Hong Kong. I have been traveling around the world since 18 years old: Greater China, Europe, India, and the Middle East and have a rather open spirit.

I'm a Confucius Institute (the ONLY globally recognized official institution for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages) certified Mandarin teacher.

I'm also an official YCT (Youth Chinese Test)/ HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)/ HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) test examiner.

In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach Chinese at international schools and lead Mandarin immersion Spielgruppe (playgroup) in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. My speciality is teaching children between the age of 2.5 and 12 in an immersive and interactive learning environment. I run private lessons, where all levels are welcome. But if you’re a total beginner then I offer basic classes to help you find the way to get into it.

I develop diverse methods of teaching for the students. For the around 5-8 years old kids, I would like to set certain games to play with them, thereby the kids can learn the new language during the interaction and communication. In this way, different media, like color pictures, puppets, or storybooks are essential to make the course very attractive. For the teenager or advanced students, a structuralized teaching content based on scenarios or textbook could help the students to develop their language capacity efficiently in different aspects – listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Besides, I would like to give a deeper perspective for the Chinese- not only learning the language from the textbooks, but also the knowledge of the language, the culture, and the literature.
